About DNS?

DNS= Domain Namer Service. Like the number in a telephone-book, or yellow-pages, your name has to be "translated " into an IP address; every Nameserver in the world can interpretate an delegate to the webserver, as your domain (www.yourname.ext) is transleted and directed to the right webserver. This is the job of the DomainNameServer. This nameserver (ns.name.ext) authoritative for your "nameserver-nr.name.ext. get's it's details form the NS rootserver. e.g. : www.nic.hu, and this root server, as the "parent" server updates its "children" throughout all nameservers in the Net, a several times a day, sometimes "online" so you'll get your name to > IP address (or "phone" number) from these servers to work. These "NS" are updated on specific set times, so, in fact, only after these servers have "rebooted", they delegate the name of your site into a valid IP nr. .. You got that so far ?
This is called : "nameservice". This DNS and NS updating and maintenance is normally taken care off by your provider, as they know the "does and the dont's". Good advise: delegated it to the pro"s, i.e.: your ISP.
The cost for that is just from € 1,- monthly per nameserver for 100 MB webspace and 500 MB transfer. The Nameservers should not be locate in the same Internet Zone, so the monthly fee for NS sould be doubled per domain.
